Winter hiking in Dobbiaco

Dobbiaco is famous for cross country skiing but it offers also a lot of possibilities for winter hiking. During winter months the walking path will be cleared from snow and are perfect accessible.
One of those is the excursion to the lake of Dobbiaco. The trail starts a few minutes from our hotel and in about ½ hour you just arrive at the lake. There you have the possibility to continue for the walking. An educational path with 11 stations leads around the lake. Walking time about 1 ½ hour. Obviously you have also the possibility to take some warm drink at the lake and to walk back.

Tour de Ski

The cross country sport in Dobbiaco has a long tradition. Just for the 4th time Dobbiaco will organize a Cross Country World Cup race. In program, from the 6th to the 7th of January 2010 is the 35 km handicap men with start in the center of Cortina, a 17 km handicap men with start in Landro. Both races will start on the 6th of January and will have the arrival at the new cross country skiing stadium in Dobbiaco, just behind our hotel, the Hotel Laurin. On 7th January 2010 will start the classic races of 10 km men and of 5 km women. Both races have the start and the arrival in the cross country skiing stadium.
